The New Jersey Education Association’s 125-member political action committee (NJEA PAC) has begun the process of endorsing candidates for the New Jersey state Assembly for the general election on Nov. 4.
NJEA PAC has endorsed the following candidates based on their pro-public education, pro-labor views on issues that matter to NJEA members and their families.
On June 12, NJEA PAC endorsed the following:
LD 3: Assemblywoman Heather Simmons (D) and Assemblyman David Bailey, Jr. (D)
LD 11: Assemblywoman Margie Donlon, M.D. (D) and Assemblywoman Luanne Peterpaul (D)
LD 20: Assemblywoman Annette Quijano (D)
LD 36: Assemblyman Gary Schaer (D) and Assemblyman Clinton Calabrese
LD 37: Assemblywoman Shama Haider (D) and Assemblywoman Ellen Park (D)
LD 38: Assemblywoman Lisa Swain (D) and Assemblyman Chris Tully (D)
These candidates will join several other candidates who were endorsed in the June 10 primary.
Over the next several weeks, NJEA members across New Jersey will continue to participate in screening committees for assembly and gubernatorial races before they present their recommendations to the NJEA PAC Operating Committee in July.
